Kelly Beckham Kannwischer is a seasoned consultant, executive coach and not-for-profit executive. Kelly recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia and founded OptUp Consulting. Previously, Kelly lived and worked in Orange County, California. Most recently she served THINK Together as the Chief Engagement Officer after serving Vanguard University as a Vice President and President of the Vanguard University Foundation for five years.
Kelly has been an accredited Insights Discovery Client Practitioner since 2014. A strategic thinker and leader, Kelly is an advanced certified facilitator with the Paterson Center. Kelly leads the StratOp process with companies, universities, schools, and non-profits.
In her role as the Vice President of Administration and Public Affairs, she led a team of professionals who maintain outstanding facilities and infrastructure including information technology, auxiliary services, and campus public safety.
Prior to assuming responsibilities for day-to-day operations, Kelly served as the Vice President for University Advancement and the President of the Vanguard University Foundation. Kelly led efforts to engage alumni, friends and donors in the life of the university through philanthropic gifts and volunteer service.
Beginning in 2010, Kelly was responsible for promoting and managing the university's brand, marketing and communication strategies, and serving as the public affairs officer for the university. Kelly led a rebranding process that created a new website, social media communities, and print collateral for the university. The Your Story Matters campaign has won multiple Service Industry Advertising Awards for design and excellence.
Kelly began her career sixteen years ago as a consultant with the Pursuant Group. The Pursuant Group is a full-service fundraising firm that serves clients under the brands Ketchum and RSI. As a consultant, Kelly served clients by providing professional consulting services to schools, arts organizations, humanitarian groups, and faith-based institutions such as churches and relief efforts.
Kelly graduated from the University of Virginia and earned a Masters degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, where she was awarded the Presbyterian Leadership Award, the Alexander Hodge Award for Excellence in Systematic Theology and the Fellowship in Church and Society.
Kelly has received numerous awards for her service to the community and achievement in academics. Kelly served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Summit YMCA and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mariners Christian School. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Kelly is married to Rev. Dr. Richard Kannwischer and is the proud mother of Danica (age 16) and Ashby (age 14). When she is not working or volunteering, Kelly enjoys playing golf, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
